Digital menu in Skopje: what it costs and what you get

If you run a restaurant, cafe or bar in Skopje and you are considering a digital menu, the usual question is not “how does it work” but “what does it cost and is it worth it”. Here is a direct answer, without the marketing.

What a digital menu costs

Our digital menu is €13 per month or €156 per year. That covers QR codes for your tables, the menu itself on the guest’s phone, unlimited changes to products and prices, and photos for every item.

For comparison, printing 30 menus in Skopje costs roughly 3,000–6,000 denars depending on the paper and cover. That is a one-off cost — but only until you change a price. Every change means printing again.

The arithmetic is simple: if you change prices or your seasonal offer twice a year, printing already costs you more than the digital menu, and you get none of the other advantages.

What is included, and what is not

This is where most providers stay vague, so let us be specific.

Included in €13:

• QR codes for every table, no limit on how many
• Unlimited products and categories
• Price and availability changes in real time
• Product photos
• Menu in several languages

Not included in €13: ordering from the table via the QR code. That is a separate thing — the guest doesn’t just view the menu, they order from their phone, and the order goes straight to the kitchen and onto that table’s bill. That is part of the Pro plan (€59 per month), together with the POS system, the admin panel, the waiter app and the self-service kiosk.

If you need a till, reporting and the waiter app but not table ordering, the middle Standard plan is €39 per month.

We spell this difference out because it is the most common source of disappointment — someone buys a “digital menu” and then discovers ordering is an extra.

How long setup takes

If your menu is in Excel or Word, setup takes one working day. If you only have it on paper or as an image, it needs typing up — usually two to three days depending on how many items you have.

You don’t need new hardware for a digital menu. It runs on the guest’s phone. Hardware only comes in if you move up to the POS system.

What actually changes in the venue

Three things, in the order you notice them:

Changing a price takes seconds. This is the first thing everyone notices. Coffee goes up, you change it in one place, it applies at every table immediately.

Fewer “what do you have with…” questions. When the menu has photos and descriptions, guests ask less and waiters answer less. That is time that goes back into serving.

You can see what sells. The digital menu shows which items get looked at most. Sometimes a dish you assume is popular is one nobody opens — and that is data you simply don’t have on paper.

When you don’t need a digital menu

We will be honest, because it is easier to sell to someone who genuinely benefits:

• If you have eight items on a board behind the bar, digitising solves a problem you don’t have.
• If most of your guests are over 60, scanning becomes an obstacle rather than a convenience.
• If the signal in your venue is weak, fix that first. A QR menu needs a network.
• If you haven’t changed prices or your menu in years, paper is cheaper.

We work outside Skopje too
